Welcome

Hello! Welcome to MeLikeWeLike.

My name is Elizabeth, you can call me Beth. I’m happy you found your way here.

If we haven’t met yet, here is a little bit about me. I am originally from Michigan, lived in Colorado for a moment and have called Seattle, WA home for the past 24 years. I live here with my partner Dan and our two dogs, Oso and George.

I am an artist. I have always been creative and have spent my life making. It is one of my greatest joys in life. One of my earliest memories is of my mom teaching me how to color, by tracing the black outlines in the coloring book with thick crayon marks and coloring inside the lines in a soft color pattern. I loved the contrast and still color the same way.

I also love helping and teaching others. This has been a theme in my life and career.

I still have some of my old coloring pages

Helping and teaching from the beginning

One thing I always remind people who are on the creative journey is that being an artist isn’t defined by your final artwork. You are an artist in how you see the world, how you move in the world. It is in your essence and everyday life. You are an artist.

I began my career working in newspaper production, radio announcing, video production, television news and other media related jobs. Then one day in my thirties, I realized that the favorite part of my day was the connection to my colleagues and friends, helping them in their lives and encouraging them to be their best selves. This began my journey to become a licensed psychotherapist and hypnotherapist. I now have a full time private practice and feel grateful that I get to do what I love for a living.

In my spare time I love to paint in watercolor or acrylic, collage, bake, write poetry and essays, collect typewriters, hang out with our dogs, be out in nature, block print fabric, sew zippered pouches, read, go on adventure drives and do anything creative.
